Date Night!!!
I am so excited, my wife and I get to go on a date night tonight! One of our students has volunteered to watch our two boys. This will be the first time that we will be able to go out and not worry to much about Jackson. Now we have to decide what we are going to do! Maybe Dinner and a Movie! Kinda old school, but its good to go back to the basics every once in a while!

Luke 5:11-16
“Jesus reached out and touched him. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be healed!’ And instantly the leprosy disappeared.” v.13
Jesus has the power to completely heal and restore. This leaper was not afraid to ask Jesus for help, but he also believed that Jesus could help him. Whatever you are dealing with, yesterday, today, or tomorrow, take it to Jesus, he can and will help when you ask and believe. Give it a try, and see if Jesus doesn’t make a difference!

Family Pictures
While I was away at Camp, (awesome week with God and Students at Wild Week), Stephanie and the boys, as well as Nana and Papa, her mom and dad, had pictures taken. In my office I have a new picture of Stephanie and the boys given as a Fathers Day present! I love my family!

Street Bowl Champs
Last night we hosted our first Street Bowl. 3 teams competed in a double elimination 5 on 5 flag football tournament. Each team consisted of 4 guys and 1 girl. Here are three pics of the champions!

Luke 5:1-11
“When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, ‘Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.’” v.8
Have you ever doubted God? Have you ever not been obedient to what God tells you to do because you have failed at it before? Have you ever thought if you just worked harder . . . ? I am sure these are all feeling that Simon Peter felt when Jesus tells him to go out into deeper water.
Once there, his crew couldn’t handle all the fish and others had to come help because there was so many. Peter realized the what had happened. He realized that Jesus was Lord of all things. He realized that he was not worthy to be in Jesus’ presence. He realized he was a sinner. BUT, Jesus changes everything!
With Jesus, we can be forgiven. With Jesus, we can have purpose. With Jesus, we can see miracles. With Jesus, we realize how much we need a Savior. With Jesus, we find hope. As I go through my day today I want to make sure I am with Jesus! How about you?

One Small Step For Jackson
It’s official, Jackson is trying to walk. I had a feeling he would take his first couple of steps while I was at Camp last week but he waited until I got home. Last night, he took 2 steps before he fell down and then today, Stephanie said he took 4 steps. It won’t be long before he is running after Josiah!

Mark 1:16-39
“Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” v.35
What a lesson! Jesus made time to commune with The Father. He was always busy, but even He made time to get away and meet with God. It’s easy to get caught up with ministry, work, school, and life for that matter, that we begin to neglect these times of solitude, individual worship, and prayer. Perhaps you need to redesign your schedule to find time for earnest prayer. It is vitally important to:
- Seek the Lord before your busy schedule takes over your day.
- Withdraw from the noise and demands so you can focus on God.
- Have Jesus’ attitude toward regular communion with God.
- Reflect on your priorities, compared to Jesus’ priorities.
- Determine to pray more consistently, not just in times of crisis.
If prayer was important for Jesus, then it must be important for His followers. PRAY – even if you have to get up early in the morning to do it.
My wife and I are reading a great book called “Secrets of the Secret Place” it talks about meeting with God and how important it is. Very good you can order it here!

Swamped
Man I have so much to do and can’t seem to stay focused. We started a new series this week called The Epistle. We are teaching through 1, 2, 3 John. This week we dive into chapter 1, and next week chapter 2 in the Big House. Everyone needs an outline, so they can put PowerPoint stuff together and I got nothing. I am still trying to recoup from last weeks awesome time at camp. Pray for me, I need it!
