  • We got Croup!

Well it’s official, Josiah has gone 4 years without getting it and now he has it!  Cant wait to see how he handles the steroid.  Now the challenge is to keep him away from his brother Jackson so he doesn’t get it.  Of coarse its the weekend so could be an exciting one, in a negative way, if Jackson get a fever!  We are praying it doesn’t happen but are preparing ourselves to deal with it if it does.  We are praying if Jackson does stat to get it we catch it early enough that it wont bring about a seizure.

  • Got a Sick One!

Josiah woke up yesterday (Thursday) with a cough.  Though it sounded bad, like I did when I was a kid, he acted fine and was his normal self.  Last night however, he sounded horrible!   You could hear the congestion now when he talked.  After a stint in the bathroom with the shower on, we got him to take some medicine and go back to sleep.  He slept fine but mom and dad didn’t. He says he feels fine, but he doesn’t sound fine and today and he woke up with a fever.  We have a doctors appointment today at 3:15.  Until then, here is what he will be doing!

I hate it when anyone in the family is sick, especially if its either of the boys.  I feel so helpless!

  • Anniversary – Six Years of Marriage Bliss

That’s right, today is our six year anniversary.  Yes, Stephanie has put up with me for six years and I look forward to many more years together.  I think she does also!!!

We started the night out at Terilli’s.  Last year a couple of people got us a gift card to Terilli’s and we loved it.  The food was good and the atmosphere was great.  However, last night the atmosphere was still great, but the food and the service not so good!  We came with great expectation but left with less than average experience.  If it wouldn’t have been for the Dark Chocolate Seduction cake, we would have really left disappointed in the food.

Following dinner, we decided to go see the Dark Night.  Great movie, not for kids, and very long.  There is one point that I thought the movie was going to end but then it continues for almost another 45 minutes.  We both liked it! A lot of action and the story line is pretty darn good!

Last Night, was fun!  I look forward to growing old together!  Here is a pic for my Jeep before we went on our adventure!

This is the pic Stephanie likes, I think I look anoid and not that excited. There is a better pic of both of us but she didn’t like her hair in them!

  • Saturdaze!!

This weekend Stephanie’s sister Rachel has been in town.  So Saturday, we ventured out to the new Buffalo Wild Wings in McKinney.  I am the only one that had been before, so the rest of the family was skeptical.  The boys had fun, they got balloons and crowns, what kid doesn’t like those things.  I loved the wings.  However, the girls were less impressed and our service was good but slow.  So what should have taken about 45 minutes to eat took an hour and a half.

After we were full, we spent the rest of the day, or so it seemed at Target.  My wife could live here seriously.  I like to shop, but for some reason Target drives me crazy.  Maybe it’s because I am so used to WalMart?

Saturday Night we broke the law.  We went to our pool after hours.  We are rebels.  Joe wanted to swim and it happened to be 8:45pm.  Our pool closes at 9:00pm. So needless to say, we were the only ones there.  Tons of fun and we were able to take some awesome pictures!!!  Enjoy.

  • If I had a daughter . . .

I have always said girls have issues.  Emotions and all the other stuff that God made them to feel.  This isn’t a post to bash girls, I love my wife very much.  To be honest, before we were married we would talk about our ideal family being one boy and one girl.  However, God had a different plan and blessed us with two boys.

While in Mexico there was one girl that melted my heart.  She had a smile that would just light you up.  I had the privilege of pushing her on a swing all morning and then playing with her the rest of the time throughout the week.  Here is a pic of the two of us that was taken by one of our students.

I am sure my life would be much different if we would have had a girl. Tea parties would replace wrestling. Dance, gymnastics, and yes probably even cheer-leading, would replace football, baseball, and motocross.  Shopping, well what can compete with it when you are a girl?  It would probably trump everything and I would be really broke!

But I do however, think that a girl would open up areas of my life that would bring great enjoyment.  Yes I said it, and yes I do believe it to be true!

  • Jacksons Favorite Lunch

Stephanie makes fun of me and can’t believe that I let Jackson try a burrito.  However, after one bite, he kept wanting more even scooting the high chair closer to the table when I was taking toooo long.  Go figure!  He can now eat a whole one all by himself!

  • Take All Of Me – Hillsong United

This weekend I have plowed though a book by Craig Groeschel called “Confessions of a Pastor“! This is an amazing read!!! I can’t put the book down! It is refreshing to hear someone else talk about some of the things that I have thought. Even if you are not a pastor this is a good read not just to read, but to think through and apply. Craig’s transparency is very encouraging! While I have been reading I have also been listening to the new, or new to me, Hillsong United CD – The I Heart Revolution. The whole CD is fantastic but there is one song that God has been using while I have been reading to really speak to my heart. You may know it, it’s called Take all of Me! Incredible! If you have the time listen to the words as you watch the video below. If your looking for a good read that will challenge your everyday, pick up “Confessions of a Pastor“!

  • The I Heart Revolution – Hillsong United

I bought this CD yesterday! It is so good and really does compel me to worship. God is using Hillsong United to inspire this generation to truly worship not just with words but with actions. That our life would be an extension of worship that is pleasing to God!  Will you join the I heart revolution?

  • Double Rainbow

Last night we didn’t really get any rain but it looked like it would let loose at any moment.  However, from our front porch we saw one of the clearest rainbows I have ever seen.  Actually if you look close enough, you can see two rainbows!!! Enjoy!

Thanks God for the beauty and reminder of you love for your creation.  Every Rainbow is our constant reminder of your promise and faithfulness to us!

  • Why Did I Get Married?

Last Night Stephanie and I watched a movie that we have had for almost a month, the advantage of blockbusters movie pass, called Why did I get Married? At first, I was less than enthusiastic to watch it. But I have to admit, it was really good. Steph and I have a good marriage, but we saw ourselves in one particular couples situation. I know for me, my ribs hurt from her elbowing me every time a point was made. But this movie took real life situations and drew you into them. Each couple had their own challenge. It made me think about how much I do appreciate my wife and how I can show that in more tangible ways.

Men, I know it sounds like a chick flick, but its not. In fact, you can watch it and still keep your man card!!!!!
