Paranoid!?!

Have you ever been there?  I guess this is a form of worry, but ever since our last Hospital visit with Jackson, I have not been sleeping well.  It’s almost like I dread the evenings coming because most of our bad experiences have happened in the late evening/early morning.  I find myself watching his every move, feeling to see if he is breathing ok, or checking to see if he has a fever.  It typically starts about the time he is wanting to go to sleep.  It almost seems as if I sleep with one eye open.  If I do by chance wake up, I always check on him.  I am hoping that this is a short lived phase that doesn’t linger so I can get some good sleep with confidence that he is ok.

God gave you this child and He has all of his days planned. This is when you learn to trust Him with what means the most to you! Children have a way of teaching you the biggest lessons in life! My prayers are with you. I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach for over a month as we tried to figure out what was going on with Josh so I can relate.

Hey there. My prayers are with you as well. When my son was a couple of weeks old, he was hospitalized with what ended up being nothing at all, but at the time they threw out all sorts of scary possibilities…..needless to say, I too went through what you are referring to; the constant checking and worrying. The severity of it will fade over time though. Don’t beat yourself up over this fear. It’s only a natural response to what has been going on, and as a parent. I wouldn’t even call it paranoia. That’s your baby 🙂 God bless!

@ Cate and Laura – Thanks for the prayers and the encouragement. We know that God has big plans for Jackson even if those plans are to teach mom and dad more about faith.
