Home: No place for Bible Study
A San Diego pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home. The couple, whose names are being withheld until a demand letter can be filed on their behalf, told their attorney a county government employee knocked on their door on Good Friday, asking a litany of questions about their Tuesday night Bible studies, which are attended by approximately 15 people. 8th Grade Small Group
Last Night I crashed our 8th Grade Small Group! The team and students are kill’n small groups. If your in 8th grade it truly is the place to be on Wednesday Night. Last Night the topic was on Purity! Anytime with teenagers when you talk about purity it leads to talking about sex and how far is too far. Even though the students were a little out of control, once we addressed it and started the lesson there was a great discussion and Michael the 8th grade coach did a great job of getting them to talk and keeping us on track so they had time to talk in smaller groups also.
God is moving in the hearts of our teenagers. It’s exciting to see and hear from them how God is teaching them new things all the time. Here are two pics from last nights large group time

Main Event – Bowling with the 6th Grade Small Group
What a blast last night was!! It was my first time, won’t be my last time to go to Main Event. We ate pizza and bowled two games and played some video games all in the normal Small Group time slot. Everyone had a good time – even David had a good time and he had a broken foot!!!! Josh Harris did a great job as a Coach putting it together and the small group leaders and interns (Colleen, Chris, Jason and Rachel) did a great job of leading and being relational with the students! Thanks for inviting me and letting me be a part of a fantastic night!
Here are some pics from last night, enjoy!

Costume Party Fun!!
Last night Josiah and I joined the Jr/Sr small group for their costume party. We had a lot of fun. The students went all out with their costumes I was pretty impressed. Josiah and I went as ninjas. All day he asked if it was time to go to the party, literally every 15 minutes. He was so excited and I think he had fun hanging out with the older kids! Here are some pics from last night!

Small Groups
Tonight, we officially started small groups for grades 6-10th. I have the privilege of being the 9th grade coach. Tonight we had 15 ninth graders at our host home. Here are their pictures as they walked in.
What a good night! The topic was Guilt. Guilt is a hard topic to talk about and makes us feel uncomfortable because it hinges on actually having to share our faults with others. We asked these three questions in Small Groups
- How do you deal with guilt?
- Are there signs that you are ignoring?
- Have you asked God for forgiveness?
Doug Fields shared two things about guilt that I think are pivotal to overcoming it. If we aren’t proactive in temptation we will live our life being reactive toward guilt and situations. Here are some steps to take.
- Go to God with the situation. (confession)
- Go to others with the situation. (accountability)
If you will do these things you will be able to experience freedom from your current situation!

Small Groups
Believe it or not . . . in fact ready or not, they will be here before we know it. Out of all the years of ministry I have been a part of, I have never been more excited for small groups to start as I am this year. I really feel like this year is going to be an amazing year at Fusion! All of our groups are meeting in homes and each home consists of a Coach, 1 guy and 1 girl Small Group Leader, 1 guy HS Intern 1 girl HS Intern, (interns are HS students) and of coarse students. Here is our calendar and the curriculum each small group will use this school year!
I am still thinking through this concept that I pitched to a community of youth workers when it comes to small groups. You can read it HERE! I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!!!!
